Which panel for which kiosk
QM43C and QM55C cover most indoor kiosks. 500 nits, rated 24/7, 1.1 inches deep, and a Tizen 7.0 player inside so a display-only kiosk needs no extra box. The full spec sheets live on qmcseries.com.
QB43C and QB55C save $84 on the 43" but are rated 16/7 at 350 nits. A mall kiosk that runs 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. fits inside 16 hours. A transit kiosk that never turns off does not.
QH43C and QH55C are 700 nits for glass atriums and lobbies with skylights. They cost more than the QMC; buy them only if daylight hits the screen.
Window-facing kiosk displays
When a kiosk stands right behind a storefront window, sunlight washes out a 500-nit panel by mid-morning. That's the job for the OM series: 3,000 nits on the OM55B, 4,000 on the 1080p OM46B. They're also deeper (2.1" for the OM55B) and heavier (50.9 lb), and they draw about 450 W typical against 154 W for a QM55C, so the enclosure needs more airflow.

Kiosk display questions
What is a kiosk display?
The commercial panel inside a kiosk housing. It is the same Samsung display you would hang on a wall, mounted in portrait inside an enclosure, usually 43 or 55 inches.
Can I use a consumer TV in a kiosk?
We would not. Consumer TVs are not rated for long daily hours or portrait use, and the warranty usually excludes commercial installs. A Samsung QMC is rated 24/7 and carries a 3-year commercial warranty.
Do these panels work in portrait?
Yes. Samsung QBC, QMC, QHC and OM panels all support portrait mounting. Set the orientation in the display menu so content is not sideways.
How bright should a kiosk display be?
Around 500 nits for a normal indoor space, 700 for a lobby with daylight, and 3,000 or more if it sits behind a window. Pressed Juicery runs a 3,000-nit OM55B because its kiosk faces a train station concourse through glass.
Does the panel need ventilation inside a kiosk?
Yes. A QM55C draws about 154 W typical and Samsung rates it for 0 to 40 °C. A sealed box with no airflow can pass 40 °C inside, so enclosures we quote have vents or a fan.
Does DisplayDetails sell the kiosk enclosure?
Not off the shelf. We sell the panel at the live price and quote the enclosure, overlay and install with it.
